FOSS4G has begun …
After taking place in Denver, USA in 2011 and a pause in 2012 the international conference „Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial“, or FOSS4G for short, this year is on in Nottingham, England from September 17-22 under the motto „Geo for All“. For this event the organizers boldly renamed notable institutions like Nottingham into Mappingham and September into Maptember. In over 30 workshops and almost 200 talks new developments from the field of geoinformatics are presented.
terrestris is participating in the conference again this year with Marc Jansen and Till Adams. Currently an OpenLayers 3 code sprint is taking place in which Marc Jansen is also involved. Till Adams will give a talk on Friday about the project “Brandenburg 3D“ and above that is a volunteer to chair 2 sessions. In the following days we will be reporting about the conference highlights in this location. So stay tuned.
