This year’s FOSSGIS Conference took place in Bonn from March 21 to 24, 2018. With a total of 465 participants, the conference was fully booked and we can look back on many interesting discussions with current and potential customers, business partners and community members. The social event in the evening, “Campus Dialoge” in the Poppelsdorf refectory, was also a complete success, providing a relaxed atmosphere for exchanging ideas with many nice familiar and new faces.
The FOSSGIS conference was opened in the Wolfgang-Paul lecture hall. The lectures took place in the Alfred-Philippson lecture hall of the Geographical Institute and in two lecture halls of the Geocenter. Workshops were also offered in these historical buildings and in the old cartography building of the Institute for Geodesy and Geoinformation.
At this point, we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone involved who helped to make this event a positive experience all round. We can look back on a well-organized conference with many highlights and are already looking forward to the FOSSGIS Conference 2019, which will take place in Dresden from March 13 to 16, 2019.
A total of 75 lectures were given and 28 workshops were offered at FOSSGIS. All lectures given at the FOSSGIS conference are available as video recordings. You can find these in excellent quality (thanks to the CCC) at media.ccc.de.
