On August 30 and 31, 2018, a final meeting was held in Magdeburg for the project “Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia: Model Region Mongolia (MoMo),” which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) from 2006 to 2018.

At the invitation of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), the project partners were guests at the Bildungsnetzwerk Magdeburg, a facility with a very pleasant atmosphere for holding discussions.

In addition to substantive discussions on the project’s progress, participants were asked to write down their assessment of the impact that 12 years of MoMo’s work will have on water resources management in Mongolia in two years’ time. These personal reflections were transferred to a time capsule, which will be opened on the occasion of another meeting from 01.09.2020 and compared with the reality then observed in Mongolia.

All those involved are already looking forward to the meeting in 2020 and the findings that will then be obtained.
