We cordially invite you to the third free webinar on April 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.! Here’s what it’s about:
The Warendorf district administration operates a GDI with various Masterportal instances. A recurring task is to collect simple geodata or change alphanumeric data on existing geometries. Use cases include, for example, winter service routes, the marketing of commercial space, or the location of drinking water wells and the documentation of controls. So both internal workflows, as well as information for citizens and businesses.
Well-structured and well-organized workflows for data collection are essential for the operation of geodata infrastructures. In close cooperation with the Warendorf district, a secured add-on for the Masterportal as well as database frontend and backend was developed based on the district’s GDI. The actual applications or ‘apps’ are created via a simple configuration, with which individual workflows for data collection can be generated relatively easily.
With the form-backend [1], individual forms can be created using JSON configurations, which can map both simple and complex table structures. Data is accessed via PostgREST to a PostgreSQL database. A web app with an overview and a detailed view was developed for rendering the forms: In the overview, all entries in the table or the linked tables can be displayed, filtered and sorted. The corresponding entry can be changed to the detail view via corresponding action buttons and edited.
The integration into the Masterportal offers many advantages: Geometries from existing vector layers can be transferred into the form – geometries can also be drawn or the current location can be adopted as input for form fields. For this purpose, an add-on was developed that integrates forms as an IFrame and communicates with the portal via the PostMessage API [2].
For access control to the forms and to the data, the solution offers a connection to central Identity & Access Management systems (Keycloak). The configuration can be used to control which roles should have which type of access (read or write) to the overview or detailed view. This protects the forms and data from unwanted access.
terrestris and the Warendorf district would like to present a practical introduction to the data collection solution and highlight the diverse application possibilities as part of the webinar. We cordially invite you to the third free Masterportal webinar on April 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.!
