This presentation introduces the open source tool Apache Superset, a popular BI platform that enables versatile data visualizations and interactive dashboards. Our extension focuses on the integration of geodata visualizations and the support of spatio-temporal analyses, which is particularly valuable for geographically oriented applications such as urban planning and environmental protection.

Our implementation enables the use of the following thematic map types in Superset, among others: cartograms, choropleth maps, and proportional symbol maps.

These map types make it possible to analyze temporal trends and geographic patterns simultaneously. The presentation will show practical application examples that highlight the potential of the extended Superset functionality for data analysis in business intelligence.
