On behalf of Stowasserplan GmbH & Co. KG from Radebeul near Dresden, terrestris co-developed the web-based geoinformation system PROGEMIS®.

The PROGEMIS® software is a process-oriented water management and information system that provides specialist support and organizational relief, in particular to state authorities, municipalities and associations, but also to contractors and riparian owners in the maintenance of water bodies. The PROGEMIS® system essentially comprises a closed control loop consisting of a basic plan, a work plan and documentation, which enables regular updating of the plan and organizes the management of water bodies.

An important role in the development of PROGEMIS® is also played by the involvement of stakeholders, such as communication with supervisory authorities and the public.

PROGEMIS® can be used to document the objectives and measures of water development and maintenance, which serve both the ecological upgrading of water bodies and flood prevention, and their implementation. The actors responsible for water body maintenance define the measures to be carried out on the respective water body sections and commission external companies or their own employees (e.g. municipal building yard) to carry them out. The contractors, in turn, document their work in the system on site, so that it can be checked and approved by the person responsible.

The search module gives the user quick and direct access to the water body sections being processed. The search is supported by a localization of the data to be determined on the map application, which can be based on OpenStreetMap data. OpenData services can also be easily integrated into the system to support the work.

An extensive catalog of measures explains numerous types of measures that can be applied in the context of water body maintenance and development. The catalog of measures is systematically structured and contains consistent measure designations. Depending on the actor, the necessary explanations for the measures can be called up quickly and easily via PROGEMIS®. This gives each user the information on the objective, execution details or status of the respective measure that they need in the context of their activities.
