On the occasion of the official launch of the “Energieatlas”, for which terrestris developed the technical concept, the Recklinghausen district, WiN Emscher-Lippe Gesellschaft zur Strukturverbesserung mbH, the cities of Bottrop and Gelsenkirchen, and the association for the promotion of renewable energies in Gladbeck (VEE) have issued the following joint press release:
The “Energieatlas” at www.energieatlas.org shows information about the Emscher-Lippe energy region
“With the Energieatlas, you can discover the diverse potentials of renewable energies in the Emscher-Lippe region with one click,” agree the District Administrator of the Recklinghausen district, Cay Süberkrüb, the Mayor of the city of Bottrop, Bernd Tischler, and the Solar Commissioner of the city of Gelsenkirchen, Armin Hardes.
Where is biodiesel produced? Who do I contact if I want to install a solar power or photovoltaic system on my roof? How much electricity does the nearest wind turbine generate? These and many other questions can be answered quickly and easily on a virtual discovery tour in the interactive map application www.energieatlas.org.
The Energieatlas shows, among other things, the locations of approximately 100 energy companies and provides information about the approximately 2,400 solar power systems in the region. In total, around 3,400 different objects can be accessed in various thematic maps. In addition, the Energieatlas names central contact persons, provides information on funding programs and provides useful data and facts.
“The provision of such a broad range of information is possible thanks to the good cooperation of the public and private project partners in the region,” says Cay Süberkrüb. In addition to the Recklinghausen district, the cities of Bottrop and Gelsenkirchen, WiN Emscher-Lippe Gesellschaft zur Strukturverbesserung mbH and the association for the promotion of renewable energies in Gladbeck (VEE) are involved.
