This year’s FOSS4G conference took place from June 26 to July 2. Organized by FLOSSK, FOSS4G was held at the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) in Prizren, Kosovo. The team was supported by numerous volunteers, so that the approximately 700 participants were able to view the latest developments in open source geo-software in almost 300 presentations.
terrestris was of course also on site again and was able to contribute to the program with two presentations given by Jan Suleiman:
Both presentations met with great interest in the community, and we are proud that the GeoStyler open source project, co-initiated by terrestris, is receiving more and more attention. Especially with regard to the OGC API – Styles standard currently under development, which supports different styling formats, we see great potential for converters of styling formats.
Apart from the lecture program, FOSS4G stood out due to great events: Starting with the Business 2 Business Meeting, the GeoChicas karaoke evening, and the gala dinner, the participants were able to exchange ideas on a wide range of topics and gain a first cultural insight into this exciting country.
At this point we would like to thank you for this great conference! It is always impressive to see the quality and importance of free geo-software in society.
We are already looking forward to the next FOSS4G 2024 in Brazil!
