For almost 4 weeks, there has been a public call to participate in the creation of ArborMaps, the online tree register. terrestris, together with BreWo-Arboristik, was at the Tree Care Days in Augsburg (06 to 08 May 2014). We even had a stand there, which was offered to us at the last minute. The conclusion of these 3 days and all further activities to date: The response is overwhelmingly positive! The idea strikes a chord in the industry, and the prospect of a new tree register makes many hearts beat faster. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, and the most important aspect at the moment is convincing people about the financing. Overall, the following interim result can be formulated:
- There are pledges amounting to €5,250 (equivalent to 3.5% of the estimated sum of €150,000 for version 1.0), and discussions are currently taking place with some serious interested parties who can significantly increase this figure.
- The ArborMaps page is currently being translated into 3 languages. At this point, we would like to thank: Philipp Robeck (English and French) and Karina Sokol-Bremicker (Polish), who have taken on this work as a contribution to the realization of ArborMaps.
- Ms. Monika Rech from rheintext medien is supporting the project with professional press relations work to increase awareness and ensure that all potential supporters learn about the project. We would also like to thank her very much for this idea and the uncomplicated help!
