Wednesday, day 2 of this year’s FOSSGIS in Dessau. Today, the terrestris team had another packed schedule. In addition to managing the booth, terrestris also gave two presentations and two workshops yesterday.
Christian Mayer opened the terrestris day with a presentation on “SHOGun“, the new WebGIS complete solution from terrestris. The consistently positive feedback encourages us to push the project forward with full force and publish it as an open source project as quickly as possible.
After the lunch break, there was concentrated workshop power with two parallel workshops, which were supervised by terrestris and OpenGeo. Johannes Weskamm and Marc Jansen gave an introduction to the creation of “Mobile GIS WebApps with GeoExt Mobile (GXM)“. At the same time, Christian Mayer and Andreas Hocevar were able to give an “Introduction to Rich Map Clients with GeoExt“. Both workshops were well attended and very well received by the audience.
Johannes Weskamm concluded with a presentation on “wms2GO – The WMS to take away”. Among other things, it was explained here how the open source project wms2GO can be used to make WMS and WFS available offline in a fully-fledged WebGIS.
In the evening, the day was initially brought to a relaxed close with delicious pizza and pasta. Afterwards, one or two FOSSGIS participants were met in the local trendy bar “1930”, where they reviewed the day together.
