FOSSGIS 2012: Day 3 or “The Finale”

On the last day of FOSSGIS this year, there was also a presentation by terrestris: Marc Jansen introduced the new JavaScript library “GeoExt Mobile (GXM).” In a very entertaining presentation, it was shown how GIS WebApps with a native look and feel for mobile use can be developed with the help of GXM. It is interesting to note that just a few days after the release of version 2.0 of Sencha Touch, GXM was already migrated to this version by terrestris (soon to be available as a beta version on GitHub).

In the closing event, Arnulf Christel first gave the annual report of the OSGeo, followed by the closing words of Dr. Marco Lechner, President of FOSSGIS e.V. He thanked the local organizing team, which did a great job and offered a more than excellent conference.
