Yesterday, Monday, a 4-member delegation from terrestris set off for the beautiful Dessau for this year’s FOSSGIS conference. While @sevenspatial reported the usual delay of Deutsche Bahn via Twitter, the terrestris team was able to tweet free travel.
After heading for Anhalt University of Applied Sciences to store the exhibition material directly on site, the last organizational matters could be clarified in an internal round.
After a short walk through Dessau, the representatives of the local organizing team met with some of the FOSSGIS participants in the Brauhaus “zum alten Dessauer”. There we met Andreas Hocevar from our partner company OpenGeo to clarify the last details of the joint workshops. You can attend the following workshops by terrestris and OpenGeo at FOSSGIS 2012:
- Introduction to the JavaScript map library OpenLayers
- Mobile GIS WebApps with GeoExt Mobile (GXM)
- Introduction to Rich Map Clients with GeoExt
- Introduction to the OpenGeo Suite
- Simple raster data processing with GDAL
UPDATE: The workshop “Introduction to the JavaScript map library OpenLayers” with Marc Jansen and Andreas Hocevar is already underway. A big compliment must be given to the technology team of the local organization for the very good preparation of the workshop room.
During the course of FOSSGIS, which officially opens at 13:00, the terrestris team will keep you up to date here with a daily short report.
