FOSSGIS 2013 is the largest German-language user conference for free geoinformation systems (GIS) and free geodata. FOSSGIS will take place from June 12 to 14, 2013 on the campus of the HSR Hochschule für Technik in Rapperswil, Switzerland (see also here).
Over three days, the conference will feature parallel workshops and presentations showcasing the latest open source developments in web mapping, geodata management, GeoProcessing, desktop GIS, and free geodata.
A central element of the FOSSGIS conference in 2013 will again be the presentations. The guiding principle of the presentations is the examination of spatial data processing and the application of open source software or free geodata. As in recent years, we are again looking for interesting topics and speakers for 25-minute presentations. In addition to the “full-fledged” presentations, we also offer the opportunity to present core aspects of a topic within 5 minutes in the form of short presentations, so-called lightning talks.
As an extension to the presentations, the conference offers the opportunity to present interesting FOSSGIS topics or an application in a 90-minute workshop. The workshops of the FOSSGIS conference are real workshops and take place in computer rooms using Linux-based live systems.
The exchange of knowledge with the community is the focus of the FOSSGIS conference. Presentations and workshops can be submitted until January 31, 2013. More information can be found at: http://www.fossgis.de/konferenz/2013/
