
In T-shirts and shorts in the former Bundestag, code sprints in the retro caravan camp, a boat trip on the Rhine and countless opportunities to meet: FOSS4G 2016 attracted 900 programmers and users, decision-makers and interested parties to Bonn. To have fun and build bridges.
“Have fun!” – Till Adams could only have hoped that these would be the last words of his welcoming speech, with which FOSS4G 2016 would be etched in the memories of the participants. Since 2006, the Who’s Who of the Open Source GIS Community has met once a year at FOSS4G. To mark its 10th anniversary, the OSGeo Foundation and FOSSGIS e.V. extended an invitation to Germany for the first time.
