Registration for FOSSGIS 2021 has been open for some time, where you can also register for the workshops. You can find all information about registration and booking workshops here.
In our post last month, we already drew attention to the workshops offered by our employees:
- “GeoStyler – A UI for all* styles”: Jan Suleiman, Daniel Koch & Christian Mayer (Workshop 3, 07.06. 11:00-12:30)
- “Introduction to GeoServer”: Daniel Koch & Hannes Blitza (Workshop 1, 07.06. 14:00-15:30)
- “MapProxy in practical use”: Hannes Blitza (Workshop 1, 07.06. 16:00-17:30)
- “react-geo – Mapping with React”: Jan Suleiman & Daniel Koch (Workshop 2, 08.06. 09:00-10:30)
- “Orchestration of a GDI via Docker”: Daniel Koch & Jan Suleiman (Workshop 1, 08.06. 16:00-17:30)
- “Geodata styling in GeoServer”: Daniel Koch & Hannes Blitza (Workshop 2, 09.06. 09:00-10:30)
Each workshop lasts 90 minutes, which of course is not enough time to provide much more than a brief overview. Nevertheless, the workshops offer a good opportunity for an initial orientation and introduction to the respective projects.
In the course of dwindling budgets or the desire for increased flexibility, GeoServer offers optimal functionality. Complementary to the GeoServer introductory workshop, the workshops on geodata styling and GeoStyler provide two options that deal with the presentation of geodata with GeoServer, but in the case of GeoStyler also with other GIS engines. Are many accesses to your geodata service to be expected? Then MapProxy is the professional tool to provide map caches and maximize the performance of your service. The workshop react-geo teaches you how to create the right user interface for your geodata service. Finally, the workshop “Orchestration of a GDI via Docker” provides in-depth insights into how to architect a modern geodata infrastructure. At the top of the list, we have linked the short summary behind each title, which you can also find on the FOSSGIS conference page.
As you surely already know, the FOSSGIS conference will take place online for the first time this year, so the challenge will also be to convey the contents of the workshops in a video conference – but we were already able to gather very good experience with this elsewhere last year. Basically, what is imposed on our children in school should not be an obstacle for us either!
Of course, we also offer detailed individual training courses or workshops on the above-mentioned topics (and many others), please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested!
