September is fast approaching, and we at terrestris would like to give you a little insight into upcoming activities. These mainly include:
- Participation in the FOSS4G in Denver, Colorado, USA
Mr. Adams and Mr. Jansen will travel to the USA to actively participate in this year’s FOSS4G. They will give 2 lectures themselves (1) (2), exchange ideas with GIS specialists from various projects and, as in recent years, return with a wealth of impressions, ideas and information on current trends. This information is naturally incorporated into the work of terrestris and thus benefits our customers. Due to the nature of the matter, these 2 persons will not be available for the processing of projects in the period from 12 to 24 September.
- terrestris is moving and getting reinforcements!
The new lease agreement has been signed and preparations are in full swing to relocate terrestris’ business activities to Pützchens Chaussee 56, 53227 Bonn.
Moving day is Friday, September 16, 2011, on which day we will not be available. We will endeavor to continue business operations from the new premises without interruption from September 19. In the new rooms there is space for two more employees, who will strengthen the terrestris team from 01.10. and 01.11.2011 respectively.
- InterGEO in Nuremberg
This year the InterGEO will take place from 27 – 29 September 2011 in Nuremberg and terrestris will, as last year, occupy a stand in the OSGeo Park. If you are visiting InterGEO, we look forward to your visit there.
- terrestris Code Sprint and Retreat
The developers of terrestris will retreat to a secluded location in calendar week 41 (10-14.10.2011) to further develop various projects and to push ahead with various technical matters undisturbed. Over the following weekend including Monday, 17.10., the entire terrestris staff will gather in retreat, so that although work will be done during this time, we will not be so easy to reach. From 10 to 17 October, restrictions are also to be expected here.
As you can easily see, September and October are already quite full and this year’s summer vacation period of terrestris comes to an end in September. We make every effort to advance all projects to the satisfaction of our customers, but we ask for your understanding in advance if not all work can be carried out with the usual speed.
