Actually, terrestris is engaged in the creation of interactive maps on the Internet. Therefore, it is something very special that we have created a cash register system for the 39th ADAC Zurich 24h Race 2011, from June 23 to 26, 2011 on behalf of ADAC Nordrhein e.V., at the Nürburgring.

The teams naturally need fuel to compete in the race, and due to the duration of the race, refueling is required more frequently. Now, a racer cannot simply stop at a normal gas station, refuel, pay, and then continue driving; the payment process must be regulated differently. This is where helpers come into play, noting the amount of fuel taken by a team on a fuel receipt and taking it to a registration point. There, the amount of fuel taken is manually added to the team’s account, which has previously deposited a fuel deposit. The system created by terrestris thus records all amounts and provides a statement of payments made and outstanding at the end of the race, helping to ensure that the race organization runs more smoothly.

Even though this type of application is not part of terrestris’ core business, the implementation proved successful during the race. And the visit to the race by terrestris employees was also something very special!
