The city and the first day of the conference – terrestris at FOSS4G: Days 2 and 3

After arriving last Sunday, we had time on Monday to look around Barcelona. Unfortunately, it was not yet possible to register for the conference early. Of course, a visit to the Nou Camp stadium, home of FC Barcelona, is a must. Even though neither Puyol nor Messi could be interviewed, we did meet some of FC Barcelona’s young players who were happy to answer our questions.
The conference started on Tuesday: After Lorenzo Becchi from the local organizing committee welcomed the more than 800 participants, the very good presentations by Miguel Montesinos, Schuyler Erle and Arnulf Christl could be listened to in the auditorium. The regular lecture part then took place in 5 parallel tracks. Till Adams also spoke – framed by Andreas Hocevar and Eric Lemoine – on the topic of “GeoExt and MapFish Client components: how to migrate”.
